Portraits & Silhouettes

My image fades in your daydreams,
    ghostly before your eyes;
I’ve I've loved you for all the wrong reasons,
    still you whisper your sad goodbyes.
I feel your distance as if you’re keeping
    something that should’ve been told;
I struggle each day to reach you but you chose
    to linger alone in the cold.
I keep on going back into the past
    half-dead, just like before
I met you, but alive to the thought it’s you

    I’ve loved for evermore.

Once you hung my portrait framed in black
     then hurled insults at the wall
Like a monologue that tears endearment apart
     and I heard my heartbeat fall.
I felt deeply hurt, you mocked my dreams,
     you broke my will to inspire;
I realized then your affection was a sham,
     a reflection of feigned desire.
But I've loved you dearly, and you've hated me
     so much, enraged to the core,
Still not enough to banish the thought it's you
     I've loved for evermore.

You've stopped reading me tales of romance,
     of enchantment, witches, and elves;
You talk of wars and prophecies
     and nothing about ourselves.
Your verses speak of me unkindly,
     wouldn't soothe my silent pain;
You don't care to murmur terms of longing
     on nights of chilling rain;
I saw you burn my letters to ashes
     while you sat madly on the floor,
You're screaming like hell unfurling fire,
     still I've loved you for evermore.

The lattice garden smell of roses,
     and petals have fallen to rest;
Just like the scent your body exudes
     as you lie naked on my chest;
Just like the sway of falling leaves
     the silky curls of your hair;
The perfect curves of your face I touch
     and draw your silhouette in the air.
I've forgotten the hatred, I know whom
     your colored lies are for.
You want to leave but remember this:
     I still love you for evermore.

How much more love shall I give you
     as if love can be measured enough
To fill the void in your heart, which glimmers
     like a diamond in the rough?
Free in both space and time, the part
     of you that isn't yet broken
Would stir the hope in your soul, because
     you've been loved and forgiven.
If you come back, I'd be here waiting
     at the same spot by the door
Where I'll watch you leave and hear me say:
    I still love you for evermore.

Moon and Stars

Hello, all stars of the night,
Stars so pretty and shining bright,
And of course, along with the moon;
When the night is here, I'll see you soon.

-2-
When the sun is high,
I'll be awake to look up the sky;
And when there's nothing to do,
I'll just stay here and wait for you.
